Intellectual Property & Research Contracting

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Intellectual Property & Research Contracting unit is based in MSK’s Office of the General Counsel.  It is led by Hillary Libka, who serves as Vice President, Associate General Counsel, and Chief IP Counsel.

  • On all research-contract-related matters, requests must by initiated by MSK staff

Leadership

Hilary J. Libka

Hilary J. Libka is Vice President, Associate General Counsel & Chief IP Counsel for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases, and the Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research in New York City.  

Hilary advises on IP-related matters and policies ranging from branding to patent portfolio development.  She also oversees research contracting and negotiates complex transactions and disputes.   

Prior to joining MSK, Hilary was Chief IP Counsel at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Inc. in Boston.  Her other legal experience includes positions at Cooley, WilmerHale, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and The Hastings Center. Hilary is a registered patent attorney and received her JD cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and BS cum laude in biomedical engineering from Columbia University.
